Troy played his first round of “big boy” golf at the age of 13 with his uncle Guy, Jr. at Rolling Green right here in Sarasota. After that he went on to run track at Manatee High School, then at NCAA Division 1 Oral Roberts University where he was the first ever 100 and 200 meter champion in the Midwestern City Athletic Conference. His parents bought him his first full set of golf clubs for graduation, Jack Nicklaus Golden Bears! His love for sports eventually took him to the TV Broadcasting world where he became a News and Sports Anchor and Reporter covering everything from local t-ball, to the National Golf Junior Championships, to college and pro sports where he covered the Cuban National baseball team when it played the Baltimore Orioles on American soil in 1999, the first time in nearly 50 years. He never left his golf clubs lie idle for long, losing his share of Titleists, Calloways, Pinnacles, and every other brand of golf ball you can think of. Troy is the quintessential recreational golfer who has spent plenty of time in the woods, sand, and of course water! He feels your pain! Oh, and he plays the banjo!
